Forward mounted scope

I have a cz carbine in .223 that I would like to scope. For those not familiar with htis, it is a problem because the bolt handle will not clear a scope unless mounted high, which I don't like. So, it was suggested that a short scope could be mounted forward on just ONE mount sort of scout rifle style and that would work with low recoil like .223. Anyone have any experience with this? What would be a viable scope for the application?

Good question. I'm fascinated with forward-mounted scopes myself, but I've never plunked the $$$.

I don't know the answer, but there's a thread on I believe the same rifle model (different caliber).
