Looking at a franchi instinct sporting II as a dedicated trap and sporting clays shotgun. it has A grade satin walnut, 30” barrel w extended choke tubes. Might eventually have to mod stock to adjustable comb but would shoot it awhile as is.
price is $1800 new
Any opinions?
The browning and beretta guns are all $500 or more over the franchi.
Thanks

Would you mind elaborating? If it’s too light for trap then it’s too light for skeet and sporting clays.
Most of the trap guns I see run a pound or so heavier. I don’t want that much weight moving when shooting pairs. I currently shoot skeet and sporting clays with a beretta 390 Sporting. Just getting interested in trap recently. Thinking an O/U would be my next step.

One of my hunting buddies bought the Franchi. Wood was EXCELLENT, nicely figured and frankly I thought he bought up a grade or two. Was with him 1st firing on the range with personal remote electric thrower and watched him drop TWO clays out of 100. Somewhere north of 1500 rds now which is low for him. Blame ''covid.'' Trigger is excellent, ''love at first sight.''
He also owns a 686 and a HK Sporting Clays , and has owned other O/Us. This thing is also a killing machine on upland game, quail, chukars, pheasants.

Not just the ''every new gun shoots gr8t'' gun. Hehe

His final assessment? Would buy it again in a NY second and yes it is correct, they are a little less $$ moula also.

BUY IT! Good luck:thumbup:
