Free "No guns - No money" cards

I got this link at www.ksconcealedcarry.com the owner of the website gave me permission to post it elsewhere.
It's a double sided card you can hand out to business that have posted no guns signs. PDF format, print it out on Avery 8471 business cards.

If I can ever find the stupid InDesign file I used to make those I can change them to reflect different states.


In all fairness, Ohioans for Concealed Carry were the first to design such a card and I shamelessly used theirs as a guide.

I kinda forgot about the "Kansas" on the back. You could print one side or if someone has a full version of Adobe Acrobat you could probably change it.

How do you guys get these cards to the shop owners? If we go in we are breaking the law!

Do you just tape them to the door? Mail then? Send your Non-CHL SO/Buddy in with the card?

I love the idea, but have never seemed to make it work.

I would secure my weapon in my locked car in the parking lot (that's legal even for posted businesses in TX), walk in and ask to speak to the manager on duty, hand him or her the card, politely have whatever conversation was welcome, and then walk out.

BTW, in the course of the convesation, I would also mention that I have lots of CC'ing friends, and they, too, would be told of the establishment's policy, so as not to accidentally cause any problems by going where they are forbidden.

Here in Colorado I am not breaking the law by ignoring the sign and going on in packin' but do check your local laws first.

I've got a small stack of these printed up and have as yet NEVER had the chance to use one

On one side:
I think this is a good idea.
I support your right to carry 100%.

I think the cards will be thown out by the staff or put up in their office in jest.
I think the business owners have a right to disallow guns from their establishment.

Nobody is questioning their right, the purpose of the cards is to remind business owners and managers of the consequences of exercising that right.

These are a great conversation starter, also they are good for dropping off with underlings when the boss isn't there to talk to (you could also drop them into those fishbowls for drawings for free food and such).

I like the card but I can't see it making any difference when you realise the number of applications, then the number of those who will print the cards, then the number who will actually use them. I can't see a store manager giving a darn about getting a card every 2 or 3 months.

Zundfolge, you raise good points, I just wanted to give my dissenting opinions.

Personally, I would rather introduce myself, shake the managers hand, look them in the eye and tell them my thoughts.

-I see a card presented after a hand shake would be a distraction to the conversation.
-A card presented after a hand shake would be most likely trashed or put up in jest.
-A card in the business card 'fish bowl' IS a good idea.
-A sealed envelope with a short typed letter containing the business card left with an employee for the mangager might be a better presentation.
-A sealed envelope containing a short letter printed on a "No Guns, No Cash" letter head might be good too, sans the card. (Am I good or what?)

Just my thoughts, as I am trying to help and have spent a lot of time studing effective communication skills I would be happy to create and post a business letterhead for you folks.

I used to hand these out when the new carry law came out in Minnesota.
I do recall at least one place that removed anti-carry signage after I left a card, but I couldn't say how much of an affect the card had in that situation. Can't hurt to let them know we're voting with our feet.
