French Now Using H&K G-36s?

As far as I know all the German troops wear Flecktarn style camo which is pretty distinctive and doesn't look like what's in that picture. Could be some other EU country though.

I am a French linguist, I have done joint operations with French soldiers. One of my language instructors was an NCO in the French Paras, another was a drill sergeant. If you think they suck, shoot at them sometime and see what happens.

The French have been carrying MORE than their weight in Afghanistan. As for why they are using something besides a FAMAS, I really don't know.

Knock off the French bashing. Not only is it old and tired, but it's just not funny anymore.

French troops have died along with Americans in Afghanistan. French members of THR probably have friends and family serving there along with our troops. Making fun of our allies as their guys die in our cause just to make a cheap joke is not high road behavior.

IIRC French Special Forces don't carry FAMAS, I believe at one time they carried Canadian C7s (Canadian version of the M16). Maybe they're using G36s now (would make since now that they're EU members with the Germans and probably get better pricing).

Definitely not German, pattern looks French to me, could be from the FFL.

I regards to the French, they have a top-level military with some serious, professional troops. I wouldn't think twice about fighting beside them.

Look, the reason the French have had such a dodgy military history is because their military is under the control of French politicians. THERE is France's REAL failure ... they've been a delusional socialist country for the last two centuries.

Political correctness and multiculturalism are the latest vestiges of leftist thought and those will likely be the end of France ... within a generation or two France will be an Islamofascist dictatorship. But that's neither here nor there.


At any rate, the camo is pretty clearly French, so either its another country that buys their uniforms from the French or the French are trying out HKs.

Ok, its Wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt, but the G36 is listed as French Army Special Forces equipment.
