I have a buddy that I go to school with, he's owned a few guns in the past but times were hard and he got stuck selling them all, he was debating getting another 3" gp100 as it was his favorite of the guns he had sold but I let him shoot my sp101 and now he's torn.

he has the ccw end of things covered with a kahr pm9 but would also like cc the revolver as well during colder months.

all it boils down to hes stuck between somthing new and something framiliar, any suggestions?

They're both great guns, but if his main use would be "cc", than the SP101 would be the way to go. Or, if he's like so many of us, he'll end up getting one of each. :)

How many posts have you come across saying "Man, I wish I hadn't sold X", or "X was my favorite, but I foolishly sold it", etc.

He should get what he really wants, not just simply what logic dictates that he should have. At least, that's how I look at things; and while I have a slightly unusual collection of firearms, I enjoy every single one of them, and the ones I bought because it "made sense", I wound up selling to get things I just wanted, plain and simple.

Speed Six
Definitely a good compromise. Since he already has an extremely concealable gun, and you specified cold weather carry, I'd go with the 3" GP-100. 1 extra round, and much more comfortable with hot .357 ammo. It's still small enough to carry, especially IWB. Heck, I carry my 5" GP100 both IWB and OWB with my Simply Rugged pancake. Conceals pretty well, actually. Mine has the new stock Hogue grips though, and that's not terribly conducive to hiding under a light shirt.

Bottom line though, is both are great. He might also consider the 3" SP101.

Since he already has the PM9, gotta go with the 3" GP. If this were to be his only CCW, I'd vote SP101.

+1 8Ball I bet which everone he gets he will carry it so leave the regrets behind and get what you want not the one you think you want.

Good Luck, Bama
