Flashlight and a .22. I used a little short Rossi pump and loaded solid .22LR cartridges that I had flattened the noses of a bit with a file stroke. That seemed to anchor the frogs better, less reflex jumps that way with not-quite-perfect shots. Irrigation ponds hereabouts are good for a few big bullfrogs apiece every so often.
There's an irrigation pond close to the airport (one paved strip) where I used to live that we checked regularly. One night we discovered we had company- an antidrug task force thought we were who they were looking for after we pulled out there and got out with our gear- big surprise on everyone's part, fortunately no one hurt... we decided not to hunt the airport pond that night tho.
