Frozen Shotgun Test

I saw that. I would be more worried about bringing in one of those shotguns into a warm environment and the internals rusting.

I don't have 34 minutes to spare, but skipped around and watched the end. I'm guessing the SXS was the winner.

Interesting story I read about a duck hunter who had his gun freeze up. He was able to unload the magazine but couldn't get the action open to eject the shell in the chamber. He decides to fire the gun to get it out. The trigger pulled, the sear released, but the firing pin was frozen.

He had a gun that was going to fire at some point when the firing pin either thawed or something jarred it loose. And he had no idea when that was going to happen. I don't recall the outcome. That could happen with any type of gun.

Heck, I had a 870 freeze up at sporting clays one time. It still functioned but it was a struggle. It was almost as aggravating as the snow going down my neck. IMG_1970.jpeg

I was expecting a duck hunting thread, hunting them always seems the best when conditions are worst. I’ve had some you could only hold where your hands had been when the ice had formed over the rest of the gun and my gloves...

My draw to Garand Thumb videos is more to watch them act like big kids than the results of the reviews. We need more of that...

Dumb. I’ve peed on a 1903 striker assembly to thaw the cosmoline enough to shoot but purposely freeze one? Dumb
