Can anyone give me some general info/hints/recommendations regarding positives and/or negatives involved in shooting FWC vs. SWC reloads?

I'm just beginning to get into bullet casting and haven't yet decided about moulds. I plan to start with .38/.357 and .44 for plinking/practice purposes.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Because I've always used SWCs in my semi-autos (reliability of feed) I just kept on with them for .38 and .44. SWCs will feed into the cylinder of a revolver more easily than WCs.

Unless you're going for target accuracy, I don't think it makes much difference for plinking.

I suggest buying 50 or 100 of each, and comparing general accuracy in your own gun. For general purpose use, though, I"d go with the SWCs.

Back in the days when about the only handgun shooting sport was bullseye shooting, full-wadcutter bullets were developed because they cut a clean, round hole in a paper target, making scoring easier. For "paper-punching" they are brobably still the best choice. For most other kinds of shooting SWC's are usually better.

Thanks, guys -

Believe I'll go with the SWC. Thanks again for all the info!
