Fellas come join us in a revolver challenge. This fella was riding me like a rented mule just talking all sorts of trash which actually made it fun. Though I am not sure I made it hard on myself starting with these big booming hand canons or not. My thought was hey get the biggest pill you can to sling down range then it's like tossing hand grenades you only have to be close LOL.

Not bad!!! I'm curious, d/a revolvers handle the recoil differently obviously because of grip angles etc, etc, how would you compare the bisley to the s&w since you got to back to back them with same cartridge and load?

And I shoot better with the 460 even though I agree it is like a grenade going off close by. Curious do you have the sub nose 460?

Always entertaining and informative. Really like MrRevolverGuy's posting.

Bur I gotta add my usual warning, them big boys
are going to make a shooter pay in pain and
injury as time goes by. Not worth the fun.

Good shooting!

I can’t hit a broad side if a barn with my .460! It’s TOO violence
I had issues with the FA 454Casull and found using my support hand to trigger it helped greatly!
I use the Jack Weaver stance only when shooting big magnums and let it do its thing.
The NRA's version of the Weaver Stance is Much different, it's 95% Isosceles Stance!

I have a short barrel .454 that I have not shot yet. It’s kinda light weight, scares me

Remember, it's been 20 years ago when the 12(almost)year old boy from Texas died when a Ruger Redhawks recoil was too much, and those loads are tamer than the proprietary Freedom Arms Loads.
Super Magnun firearms are not for everyone!

My .460 XVR is the most accurate revolver I own, or have ever shot. It's accuracy always amazes me. With the red dot scope on it, it's easy for even first time shooters, to hit a bowling pin @ 100 yards.
I was think of putting a red dot on my baby .460! I can shoot the 1st shot alright, but develop a defense flinch on the 2th shoot

I'll agree, my 460XVR is accurate and easy to handle once you learn the basics.

I have a heavy 45 Clot load loaded in a 460 Mag case that allows one to practice with the revolver without the major recoil. Then when switching to the full power loads, some of the basics are learned on the shooter can concentrate on controlling the full power loads.

My 460XVR is an 8-3/8" model and I'm sure it is easier to control than a 4" or 5" version.

Are you following a loading manual for your reduced recoil load?
My brother tried that with reducing 44RM loads to comply with range rules and squibed.
His load was not found in any load manual but got the information from a local gun smith.
