Kids painted Easter eggs, i painted a gun.....ok i painted eggs too lol.

Ive got an ATA Turqua and a Stevens 334 that ive been messing with for a bit and ive decided i like them.
The Turqua is better finished and has some nice features that the 334 doesn't carry, but otherwise it's the same gun. I'm probably going to sell the Turqua tho since dad didnt like either and wants a new hunting rifle.

One thing I noticed about both is that the blue finish on the barrels rusts pretty easily. The action doesn't seem to have the same issues, but if I'm painting a barrel........

Anyway, to help with the rusting issue and because I really don't like black guns had decided to color up the 308 which I'm going to keep.

Couldn't decide what colors I wanted to use........ So I used all of them.....

I had originally only intended to paint The rifle, but after looking at it for a while, I decided the scope needed to be the same color...... Or colors......

Anyway, it was fun and the gun should be pretty rust resistant on the outside now. Believe it or not, that's actually pretty good Camo for most of where I hunt.

Does it look as good in person as it does in the pictures? I'd never be able to get myself to do that. Looks good though.

Its a little busier up close. This is also the first time ive painted a barreled action in camo since highschool, id forgotten to give more space between the colors.

Im happy with it, tho for sure not everyones cup of tea lol.

Great mix of colors!

I was going to say that the blend you put together looks a lot like the areas I saw where the goat range on the dry side. I bet it hides really well out there  .

I have a couple of AR’s I need to pretty up. I think that could be a project for me in May. 🤔

Let us know how it does when you get back out there.

Stay safe.

It looks good to me. It would pretty much just disappear in my area in the dead season and wouldn't do bad during the summer months. I have decided to never paint another rifle. I just might do something wild and crazy on a stock like I have done before although worsening shakes make using an air brush difficult now. I asked my neurologist at my last yearly checkup just how much of my anti-shake medicine I can take at a time to stop them. His answer was when you can't move that's too much but it will wear off in about 8 hours and you will be shaking again.

Nice job, Loonwulf! That red really makes it. I bet it melts into the background, over there.

I’d like to get a rust blue mimicking paint for the barrel and a hydro dipped fancy walnut design on my most used AR.
Then I’d blend right in with all the older guys at the new club in joined!:p

I was a little surprised when I was in HI to see washers and driers in use outside the house, but I guess when you always have warm temps it doesn’t matter.

Cool coloring!

Mudrooms, washrooms, and basements are pretty rare here.... You do see them, but they're pretty uncommon.

All the stuff that's in there usually gets moved outside into the garage..... And when that's full you put up tents all over the yard.... Mine actually looks a little like a homeless shelter since dad moved in with all his stuff lol.

Durablue actually comes out pretty close to polish bluing if the surface underneath is properly prepped and applied. I bet the satin would look almost exactly like matte bluing.... Stuff's not super expensive and really not very hard to apply....

Hydro or vynil wrap...and BOOM.........

Looking forward to seeing your project!😛

My long range rifle needs to get a paint job too...... I never take it out and play with it just cuz it's so boring to look at. Course I need to get rid of the chassis it's in replace it with a normal stock first......
