Future of the 327 Federal?

I'm not saying this is dead on the table, but the question was already addressed, "Who wants a revolver that replicates high-pressure 9mm loads? Especially when 9mm is cheaper.

Those that like revolvers is the simplest answer.... but is that enough of a market to justify
There's no question that the .327 Mag is pitched at those who already love revolvers. My question is, is it pitched at the right segment of that market?

I can't see myself buying it for a carry gun, but I can see buying a Single-Six in .327 Mag as a woods and small game gun.

Well, Vern, I doubt it..... for self-defense, most wheel-gunners I know are quite happy with .38 spl, or .357 Magnum. After all, you can load calibers already out there to do pretty much what the .327 will do. And in regular self-defense distances, the extra range, and flatter trajectories don't really matter that much.

That being said, the longer range, flat shooting capabilities make it sound like a real nice hog and coyote gun. Your sentiment has already been expressed a few times here.

I think I'd agree with those posters that targeting the .327 to the self-defense crowd isn't the best use of the cartridge. I think it would make an interesting small game round, and I hope Marlin chambers the 1894 for it.

I also think a 6-round J-frame or SP101-size gun with a 3 or 4 inch barrel would sell well.

ETA: I see Ruger is chambering a 3" SP101 for .327; I still think 4 inch or longer would be best.
