Senate. I think you know that she is the leading advocate for gun rights
in the Texas Legislature and is a national spokesperson for the NRA.

Dear Friend of the 2nd Amendment,
Don’t be quiet now when your voice can speak the loudest!
It is a pleasure to write to you today with my personal endorsement for
Kevin Eltife in Senate District 1. You may know that State Senator Bill
Ratliff has resigned and there is a special election to fill his seat on
January 20th. Kevin Eltife is not only the best candidate for this seat,
but a friend of gun-owners that we need serving in Austin.
I have had the privilege to serve in the Texas House of Representatives
since 1996 where I have proudly helped lead the fight for our 2nd
amendment rights. In 1998 Charlton Heston personally honored me as the
very first Texan to receive a lifetime membership in the NRA.
We have seen many legislative victories during this time. Our concealed
carry law is a national model and an example of responsible citizens
safely carrying out their Constitutional right.
But, the battles still wages! Liberal forces in Austin and Washington
continue their efforts to chip away at our freedoms through bad
legislation. That is why it is so important to elect Kevin Eltife, a
strong supporter of the 2nd amendment who can effectively stand up and
fight for the freedoms we cherish.
Kevin Eltife is the best choice for friends of the 2nd amendment in this
very close race. He has received an A- rating from the TX State Rifle
Association and has completed the National Rifle Association
questionnaire to their 100% satisfaction. You may have been told that
another candidate received the NRA endorsement, but this was based simply
upon his past service in the Legislature. He and Kevin have received
identical scores on the questionnaire.
You may have also heard a misrepresentation of Kevin’s voting record as
Mayor of Tyler. I have spoken with Kevin personally on this issue and he
is working with me and other NRA leaders to overturn the ordinance in
question in the city of Tyler. With his strong support and help we will
make this happen in the coming months.
I strongly urge you to go to the polls on January 20th to support Kevin
Eltife for State Senate. This special election will have very low
turnout and could be decided by a handful of votes. Please vote for
Kevin Eltife and make sure your family and friends do the same!
