Hi,

I'm sorta a newbie to the Glock world. Had a couple G33s before, but just couldn't like them as much as I tried.

Anyway, long story short, I decided to re-consider the bidding process for my EDC gun, and a VERY long process later, the G4 G19 won out. And..... as luck would have it, my wife selected that exact gun as well, completely on her own. I didn't even tell her my choice until after she made hers, and hers was purchased.

One of my biggest issues with the Glock design/products has been that I didn't like the trigger. Well, it's technically a double-action trigger, since it does 2 jobs. (finishes pulling back the striker, and then releasing it) When you ask something mechanical to do 2 things, it is usually difficult to get it to do either task as well as if you only ask it to do one.

Enter the internet, and doing some searching forums and websites for some products to help me improve that trigger.

I ended up choosing Ghost products, and Lightning Strike products.
I purchased the Lightning Strike titanium safety plunger/spring from Brownell's. They shipped fast, and had a terrific price. Typically excellent customer service, and I'm very happy.

From Ghost, I spent a lot of time on their website, trying to decipher the differences between the various connectors, and springs. A quick phone call made things much more clear, and the gentleman (I think it was Oliver) was very easy to speak with, and I'm thankful for his assistance. After our discussion, and his explanation, I chose the Evo Elite connector, the spring kits, and he suggested the Factory Glock new smooth trigger and one install kit, to assist with all the installs. I also elected to purchase the maritime spring cups (which incidentally remind me a whole lot of the valve keepers on the push-rod car engines).

First, I took apart the slide, and installed the 6 lb striker spring, the titanium safety plunger, and maritime spring keepers, and reassembled the slide.
After that, I replaced the OE serrated trigger/bar and spring with the smooth trigger/bar and the heavier 6 lb trigger spring that came in the spring kit. I then started in on the Evo Elite connector, and grinding the 'trigger control tab' on the connector to fit the gun, I was surprised at how much material I had to grind off. I chose to use a dremel, with a little sanding drum on the end of the whip. It sure worked well, and was not too aggressive. I suspect I took it apart 30 times while grinding that tab just enough to fit and work.

Bottom line:

Ghost: fabulous customer service, the guy shipped it out the same day, and I am pleased with the results of the products. While I still don't have my 1911 trigger, I must continue to remind myself, it's technically a DA trigger, so I can't expect that feel. The Ghost products are all low-cost products, but when you get a few of them for your gun, sure the price does start to add up, but when I compare a modded gun to a stock one, side by side, there is a significant improvement in the trigger pull, and I believe the improvement justifies the cost. So, to me, it's a high-value product, with great customer service.

I have yet to shoot the gun, so the info so far, is just the feel during dry-fire.

PE

P.S. I'll admit I'm curious how the "Lightning Strike" titanium striker/spring setup would change the feel of the trigger pull, but for the cost, I'm not ready yet.

I also carry a Gen4 G19, but opted for the 5.0 Tactical Ghost Inc connector, to go with the smooth trigger, and I love it. I didn't change any springs, but I shoot much better with it than without it. I would be very interested to hear your findings with the Lightning Strike plunger.
