hmm, I wonder why they are willing to give away a firearm...I know, now they'll have a big ol' database of folks to market to. folks who they KNOW are interested in buying firearms...nice. :eek:

They've been around for years and are honest folks.
Being cynical is one thing.
Give us a citation to prove your doubt.
 
Why is it wrong for a business to build its prospect list with a drawing of that kind? And how else could a business have a drawing unless the people who entered left their names and contact information?

What you could do is enter with a false name and address so as to preserve your privacy.

Doesn't "Guns" magazine do something similiar? I'd think it'd be a pretty decent technique for building up a mailing list.

I've been entering their giveaway for the last year or so...haven't gotten anything from them in the way of advertising. I did get a 1 year subscription to Guns and Ammo, and this year got a subscription to Shooting Times (says, "compliments of Gallery of Guns" on the address label). The only email I get from them is a reminder that its time to enter the next giveaway.
 
I purchased a firearm through them a few years back.
Go to the main page( http://www.galleryofguns.com/ )
Click on gun locator and you can check on guns by manufacturer,caliber,action etc. Then pick the gun you are interested in,click submit,pick from options (Fixed sights,finish etc),hit continue, enter your zip code and they will give you the prices from 3 dealers in your area. With a deposit they will ship the gun to your dealer for you to pick up.

They also offer a lifetime replacement warranty which reads like this,

WHAT?!? They are using the possiblity of a free gun worth hundreds of dollars to entice people to divulge their marketing information?! People who have a known, distinct interest in their product?

Why, they should just send out unsolicited bulk email like the fly-by-night mortgage outfits and weiner pill companies do.

What is this intarweb coming to, I ask you.

wow. i stand corrected then, if you all have had good experiences with these folks.

i've just got a lot of concerns when folks ask for information, especially online...can't be too careful in this day and age.
 
They are a gun distributor. All the purchases thru their site takes you to a davidson's website that is customized for gun retailers. The retailers can set the markup and buyers can use the site to order guns, then the guns are shipped to the retailer for buyer pickup. It's a cool system for small shops who don't have their own online gun store.

The lifetime warranty is cool for people who want security, but Davidson's guns are little more expensive than other distritubutors to cover the cost of this warrany.
