Pics added a few posts down.

No pics yet, but stopped by my local Gander to pick up some .40 ammo on the way home.

In the used case saw a buttload of Savage semi-auto pistols, they bought an entire colleciton of Savages. I picked up a model 1907 in .32 with the high polish blue, and a model 1917 in .32 with the matte finish for $350 the pair. Both have a lot of case color on the trigger and at least VG condition. They have a couple of more 1907's and a model 1915, as well as one in .380 left.

For the Houston crowd if you are interested it's the Gander on 290 near Hwy. 6. They also bought a bunch of Savage 99's from the same collection.

Gander

They just opened a Gander near me (Central Florida) and I have to say I'm envious of your store.

The used case is pretty much just as expensive as the new case! I will say most of them appeared to be in excellent condition but I don't think there was a gun there under $500.00.

There is a .300 Savage takedown model with nice checkering, bordering on excellent, with a period 4x weaver scope for $595. Even d&t'd I thought this was a decent price, although not as good as the pistols, it's really a good looking rifle.

He also had an early perchbelly stocked 30-30 that wasn't as clean, and a .303 Savage takedown I'd say was VG. I think the latter two were both around $400-450. You have to ask the gunsmith to see them as he has them in the back room.

This is only the second time I've found a deal there, I picked up a BHP Practical in exc. cond. a month or so ago for $500, which isn't bad for that model.

I dropped by the GM in Mentor, OH one time during lunch and noticed they had a well used SIG M49 for $999. Never would have guessed ever seeing one there.

Ya I'm jealous too-Our GM is very overpriced. Ammo is high retail -as stated earlier Used guns are pretty close to price as new guns. The reloading stuff is always out of stock and picked over, etc etc

Had the Model 99s in the back room, heh heh.
I wonder why the gunsmith had them in the back room??????
