* Relatives of two British convicted murderers, claiming a breach of 'privacy' under the European Convention on Human Rights, filed lawsuits recently against the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) over a crime-prevention campaign. High-profile gang-bangers Colin Joyce, 29, and Lee Amos, 32, had been sentenced to long prison terms, and the GMP, trying to turn youths away from gangs, created computer images on billboards of the two men as they might look when they are released, sometime after the year 2040. Their families are outraged. (GMP reported that gang-related shootings are down 92 percent since Joyce and Amos were caught.)

What a target rich environment!

The frivilous lawsuit illustrates the danger of making the USA subject to international law and international courts: we have enough idiocy in our legal system with home-grown laws.

And "Gawd look at those YOBs as old geezers when they get out" may actually inspire some of our "yutes" to avoid a life of crime.

There is a reason that Lott & Mustard 1997 (More Guns Less Crime 1998, 2000) and the two dozen studies examining the Lott & Mustard hypothesis to isolate effect of Right-To-Carry on crime include arrest and conviction rates in the 30 odd variables believed to affect the crime rate.

And there is reason for Californians to be concerned about the court-ordered release of 30% of their incarcerated felons.

But the first thing I thought was: Brady Campaign and IANSA would credit the 1997 UK handgun ban with the 92 percent reduction.

Yes they will ... despite the fact that the ban went into effect in 1997, and they didn't get the 92% reduction until these two thugs were locked away in cages.
