Zeiss, Leupold, NF, or what scope will you guys say is going to be best at 800ish yards on a 308?
Im currently looking at the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50 LR/T M1 and am in contact with leupold about calibrating the turrets to a Federal GM 168gr.
Any thought appreciated

What Zeiss were you looking at? There is a big difference between a Conquest and a Hensoldt.
If it's for a GAP rifle, talk to GAP about the new Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21x50 with their own design GAP reticle.

If you have a choice between several optics, I would encourage you to look for something with matching turrets and reticle. Preferably mil/mil, but moa/moa is fine if that is your flavor. I tend to steer towards brands other than a Leupold. Leupold makes a good scope, but for the money you pay for a Mark4, you can get other rifle scopes for about the same or slightly more with a wider array of options and customization. NightForce, Bushnell, IOR, SWFA, they all have options that surpass what Leupold has, and their glass is fantastic. You get a lot more for your money with glass that usually is better than the Leupold.
The big "IT" scope right now is the new SWFA SS 5-20x50.
Leupolds are really only feasible if you can get one used, or if you have access to the federal/military discount program, or Promotive.com discount.
Just my opinion though.
