Greetings, Can anyone help me compile a list of semi-auto rifles that have the gas piston action. I will start with the ones I know, Ruger Mini-14. Kel-Tec Su-16, AK-47. I am really interested to know if the Remington 750 and Browning BAR are gas piston also. Is there any other gas action systen available? What gas system does the Remington 11-87 have. Any help will be appreciated.

FN-FAL, Steyr Aug, Robinson Arms XCR, AR-15 with POF refit, Armalite AR 18/180, L85........

Shorter list might be Semi Automatics that aren't piston driven......

HK91 (g3) and 93 (g33), although the M1 and M14 are gas operated, I guess you'd discount them as they work via a piston driven operating rod.

I think the Russian SVT-40 may fall in that category. It's a little different from most in that it's adjustable for ammunition and weather.

SVT is the same as a FAL, except it has a internal valve rather than a regulator collar.

As a matter of fact, the US Army Ordinance Corps used a SVT as an example in their testing and analysis of the FN-FAL, and used the relative lack of success with the SVT as part of their grounds for rejecting the FAL.

The SKS, AK, Vz-52, FN-49, and G/K-43 are all piston-driven.

I find it ironic that the AR fanboys are all now clamoring over piston-driven uppers.

I think I've owned every single make and model of EBR available.

I've settled upon the somewhat controversial AR15 / "M4" platforms just because they're everywhere and plentiful and comparatively cheaper (say, than some European imports). The number of affordable aftermarket accessories as well as competitive parts suppliers available for the AR platform is just mind-boggling. It's really nice to have choices.

For better or for worse, the AR is as American as baseball and apple pie.

Vaarok,

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that the FAL was derived from the 1949 FN .30cal rifle.
