I saw some comments in another thread which got me thinking about this. What website or youtube channel has good gelatin test information for all the major name brand self defense pistol ammo? I know the manufacturers probably have their own comparisons, but I rarely see them compare with each other. Other testing I have seen often leaves out a lot of major players.

I just figured I hadn't kept up with this in a while so it would be good to see current data.

On You Tube there is a channel by "Brass Fetcher" that has a large number of gel tests. I'd start there.

Agree with Warp. ShootingtheBull410 certainly raised the bar for Youtube jello shooters (five shot strings) and seems to be the best of the bunch.

There are a few good sources on Youtube who do shooting tests in gelatin. Shootingthebull and TNoutdoors9 have covered a whole bunch of popular, and even some uncommon, carry handgun ammunition. I am sure there are plenty of others but between those two you have a pretty good start on material.

It's not just gelatin that does it. The Army Wound Ballistics Lab, Presidio, California came up with a revised gelatine that is now the "standard" and there is a mix ratio and a temperture it is taken down to to duplicate human density.

I believe the above will get you in the ballpark and if you do a bing search. If you could find copies of the International Wound Ballistics Journal it would tell you a great deal. They are unfortunately very rare as there were like 78 full members of the International Wound Ballistics Assn and then were magazine subscribers.

I have them all packed away somewhere but have not seen them in years.

BrassFetcher's high frame rate videography is one of the reasons that his is my favorite channel.
