I have a Ruger Alaskan .44 that I've become increasingly fond of. My major complaint is the double action trigger and sights. I found Gemini's site and it looks like their carry package takes care of those issues and a few others. Does anyone here have experience with them, or can you recommend another gunsmith?
Huntington is on my list as well.

Gemini gives you alot more with the basic carry package, compared to Bowen. When I finally get to the point that I can have something crazy built, I'm definitely using Bowen though.

I do most of my own smithing/customizing but wanted to try Gemini. I sent him my wife’s stainless DAO SP-101 and was really impresses with his work.

Inquiring minds want to know what they did & pics
:)
Thanks in advance
I once owned a Redhawk in 44 mag that Bowen , by the previous owner .. bobbed barrel , action job .. just a real slick gun .. dumb me traded it

Just had him slick up the action since it is DAO. She mostly carries it on the ranch with snake shot for Copperheads and Rattlers that cross her path, and she is deadly with it. I usually keep 3 snake shot and two Hornady 158gr. JHP hand loads for any vile 2 legged threats she might come across. I might have a picture on my Photobucket account. I’ll have to see if I do!

I've always thought their work was overpriced. $1000 for what amounts to an action job and a bead blast is insane. $1700 for their 3" GP conversion gives me heart palpitations. You're basically paying $700 to shorten a barrel.

Some highlights from their option list:

Mirror polish entire revolver, $750.95
This is absolutely nuts. I know these guys are using buffers. I've paid less for complete hand finishing.

Remove Ruger® warning from LH side of barrel and retain barrel contour $200.00
I've had David Clements remove the barrel warning from several guns for $25-$50.

Industrial Harchrome Plating, $429.95, includes substrate prep for chrome
Accurate Plating gets $250 for this.

Speaking of Bob Cogan of Accurate Plating, his porting is $135 vs $300. His action job is $95. He gets $200 to shorten a barrel and reinstall the front sight.

@CraigC

I have used Custom Refinishing for slide work on my Glocks and a revolver... But as far as I know they do not do trigger jobs , barrel shorting .. just refinishing ...

But as soon as I get back on my feet , I’d like to look into getting a custom revolver together.. one of my wants is hard chrome plating , so Accurate Plating looks like a viable option ... one stop shop ...

I went with Gemini, basically due to the information available about them. I'm sure the work could be done cheaper elsewhere, but aside from Bowen, no one really offers a comprehensive service/price list. When I've spoken with gunsmiths, the conversations are invariably vague about price and type of work. I've seen some amazing work from those guys, but it almost seems like you have to be in some inner circle and speak code to gain access, lol. This isn't a strike against anyone, just an outsider's take on the process.
You have amazing builds and have worked with true artists, I hope I'll have the experience and contacts to do the same eventually. I'm working with Zane to get grips for my flat top bisley at your recommendation now....

Wow his prices have gone up substantially. He only charged me $150 for the trigger job. It was worth every penny and the little lady loves to shoot it so there’s that as well!
