Hunter shot by dog

A German hunter has been shot in the backside by his dog.

The man and a friend had put their shotguns on to the front seat of their car as they rested.

But when they set off again the dog jumped on to the seat and the gun went off.

Police said it was loaded with lead shot and the injured man was hit in the left side of his rear end.

The man, who has not been named, was hunting with a friend in Nottuln near Muenster.

He had to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

How often does this sort of thing happen? this is the second or third incident I've heard about in the past few months. Sheesh.

Happens all the time. Mostly while they are hunting waterfowl from a boat. Dog is in - out - in - out etc.

Loaded guns in a vehicle take extra awareness on the part of the occupants of said vehicle. Of course a lot of folks can hardly muster up the presence of mind to remember to breathe in and out for that matter. :banghead:
