Yesterday I was looking around on the web, and I came across a few types of "peep sights", or maybe more accurately ghost ring sights for pistols. At first I was intrigued, I mean, the government gave me an M-4 with peep sights, and I qualify expert on marksmanship. But on a pistol?? So i did what I always do, I read everything I can find about these sights. Anyhow, thats just my opinion. Does anyone have experience using these type sights on a pistol? They appear to be made of steel. And claim that holstering isn't affected, im skeptical about that one though. Just wanted to see what others knew about this kinda thing on a handgun...Accuracy vs hitting on the paper. Ability to see at night. Quick aquisition....things like that.

I have 10" bull barrel MKII with a Williams firesight up front and a peep rear, I use the apperture for zeroing, but remove it for the field. Since mine has a hood on the front sight, and a bipod, I'll have to install a sling, or have a custom holster made, though for now, I simply carry it in my off hand like a short rifle...

Ghostring sights do not work very well on handguns. I had found that out with a set of nightsights that came on a used Glock.
