trying to find out on the net, Can I gift (for Christmas) a handgun purchased from FFL in North Dakota to a relative who will be traveling back to Portland?

Maybe we would both be better off if i just give money to purchase one when she gets back there? Was also going to give money for intro to handgun classes anyways.

anybody have any information, or link to a site?

Thanks

The handgun must be shipped or otherwise delivered by the (out of state) seller or gifter to an FFL in the recipient's home state, in this case Oregon. The FFL in the recipient's state will then transfer the handgun to the recipient. It is a felony for you to give an out of state resident the gift of a handgun and a felony for them to transport that handgun into their home state.

Rats...........I guess now it would not do me any good when they come to collect my handguns to say I gifted them to Ted Kennedy.

Thanks navy

That was what i needed to know- will give her money to buy one when she gets home.

Merry Christmas!

Sorry, to be the bearer of bad news, though.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

I am going to go check the chains on my car to make sure I can get out of my driveway now...:D

been watching the weather channel- feel bad for those of you in Oregon and Washington, at least we are used to it here in ND! We don't get the rain/freezing rain that you get very often. the farm will be snowed in again tomorrow morning, though with the wind/snow in the forecast. get to move more snow.
