I don't shoot enough to buy a Giraud. Between my buddy and I, we shoot enough and HATE trimming / chamfering / deburring enough that when one came up for sale here, I asked him if wanted to go halfsies and we got ourselves an almost new Giraud for about the same price as an RCBS Trim Pro (with motor).

Well I finally used it today to trim 200 pieces of 223 Rem brass that I am prepping for my bolt action. I took a few minutes to familiarize myself with the trimmer. It was currently set up for 308, but it took me 5 mins to change the cutter and case holder to the 223. I installed a Hornady Die Lock Ring to make caliber changes easier in the future. Took me 2 mins to get it exactly setup to trim to 1.750.

I trimmed 200 pieces in 17 mins. This includes checking quite a few for length as I went along. It was within +/- 0.001 each and every time.

I have 800 pieces of 223 left to process and about 1400 pieces of 308 that I need to rerun through a body die (did not setup my die correctly and need to bump the shoulders on all of hem to be sure). Trimming will definitely not be the chore it used to be. Heck I can trim / chamfer / debur faster than I can FL size the brass.

Definitely the best investment I have ever made.

I feel the same way and am also fortunate to have brothers who use my reloads and appreciate the effort involved. They all pitched in to get the Giraud and man is it a load off my fingers!!

My buddy is both a good influence and a bad one :)

We also went halfsies on an RCBS Chargemaster Dispenser. I can load up hundreds of rounds with Varget while I watch TV. I top them on the press during commercials. I was a scoop and trickle kinda guy. Now I just push dispense and wait a few seconds.

With infant twins at home, I don't have as much time to reload as I used to. Anything that can make it easier, quicker, AND consistent gets a win in my book.

I still have an RCBS TrimPro, but I think it may hit the FS forums here shortly.

It was within +/- 0.001 each and every time.
Since the case headspaces on the shoulder, your oal measurement is what is off by +/- 0.001". The Giraud is right, every time. :)

Can't say enough good things about my Giraud trimmer. I lusted over one for years and finally got one a couple years ago and have not for one minute regretted it. My hands and wrists thank me every time the Giraud runs. It's a wonderful investment and worth every cent IMO.

I also got a Giraud a couple months ago. Should have done it years ago. Also have his case annealer. Should have done it years ago too.
