Glenn Beck quoting Small Arms Survey

Glenn Beck is on the radio right quoting the recent UN Small Arms Survey in reference to the situation in New Orleans. He's suggesting that one way to make people feel safe enough to move back to New Orleans(now with the highest murder rate of any city in a developled nation, his words, not mine) is to start a program to arm the law abiding citizens of New Orleans. Right on!

I was flipping through channels and saw him say this on his show. Then as I flipped some more his picture was on that Obeirmanns show(spelling?) as the worst person in the world on his segment for suggesting it. He then lectured him about straw purchases and cited the specific statute and saying federal offense 250k fine etc etc. He also said the idea was clearly insane and asked how do we even know they will all be used for self defense.

because they will be sold/given to law abiding people.

I think that one way to arm those people would be for the government to take some of the guns from the buy back programs and sell them for a low price to law abiding citizens down there.

But either way, during the disaster, the looters and criminals stayed out of a few areas because they knew there were people armed there. It would still work now.

Koja48 < law-abiding < armed < not a helpless victim. Oberman is funny, just not terribly rational at times, but he probably has an armed bodyguard(s) protecting him & his. Double-standards are inherent to fame & recognition. On the other hand, Hi-Standards were downright affordable guns . . .
