Were I to buy a Glock in 10mm, can I run reloads thru it?
Can I run lead thru it?
Any other ammo restrictions?

I believe the polyagonal rifling in a Glock barrel precludes the use of lead. I'd see no problem running reloads as long as you're sure they are safe (right dimensions and not over-pressure) and use a jacketed bullet. It would probably void your warranty if Glock were to find out you were doing it.

Maybe I'd better look to a 1911 based 10, or maybe I could find an old S&W. I may also need to consider whether anybody does or will make non-lead ammo or bullets. Much of my favorite hunting areas now ban lead for hunting and I do a lot of handgun hunting.

If you are set on the Glock, you could always get an aftermarket barrel with conventional rifling. Good luck on the non-lead bullets though.

YES

My first reloads ever were through my glock 20. Don't try the lead bullets though. If I could Buy the gun over again I would buy two! No jams at 650+ rounds.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of the aftermarket barrel.
A lot of people prefer an aftermarket even for jacketed rounds because the chamber will be easier on the brass.

I did this spreadsheet a number of months back, so the prices are out of line with today's market.

But the other information should be pertinent.

I hope it helps.

That's great for a lot of reasons, not just cost tracking. It must have been a pretty involved effort. I've saved it and may update it as I get into this 10mm urge that I will scratch.

Thanks

I guess everyone else has pretty much covered what you need to do if you want to stick with gettig a Glock 20 , as for us with S&W 10's not many of us are willing to let go of them these days . Once you get your 20 , let us know how it goes , I am considering getting one .

Don't listen to the nay sayers... Lead through the poly barrel is fine, just clean it often. If you're worried, get an aftermarket barrel for it.

Yes, you can run reloads. Jacketed or Plated are fine.
