Just submitted a Form 4 with my Type 7 SOT to "manufacture" a Glock 21 (45 auto) SBR. The host frame is a Hera Triarii, the G21 will wear a 9" barrel.

Probably one of my nuttier NFA ideas but what the heck :D

Picture is stock photo.

Why not go with a stock rather than the brace if you're going the NFA route?

10mm version would be neat also! Harder to make quiet though (or if you do you then have a weak .40).

I have seen 1 or 2 other kits like that. I think Mako makes one. Are there gains you see to the one in the pic? I haven't heard of them before but am curious now.

Enjoy! Will be neat in the end.

Well that's definitely an interesting and somewhat different conversion for an SBR. Let us now how it does after it gets approved.

Well, as soon as its approved I will put a stock on it, until then, its a pistol.

How does the frame lock up and secure the pistol firmly without interfering with the proper function (cycling) of the slide during firing?

Looks as though racking the slide will be cumbersome, not to mention clearing any malfunctions.

Curious how well it actually works out, aside from aesthetics and seeing that, physically, you have the advantages of a carbine. If it's completely impractical, is it worth the trouble? Sorry, not trying to be a Negative Nancy; just curious.

Can you get a silencer under that thing?

Sadly, no. My Octane 45 is a tad too wide to fit.

The front part of the frame has an adjustable inverse rail into which the Glock's front rail slides. A couple of set screws allow me to adjust the width of the frame's rail to snugly fit the Glock's frame. The upper part of the frame is close to, but does not touch, the Glock's slide.

The left side of the frame includes a non-reciprocating charging handle.

The two complaints I'm aware of with the Triarii is excessive blast from the vents on either side of the picatinny rail and that the lock, un-lock wheel which is at the front end of the picatinny rail is too easily turned.

The 9" barrel takes care of the first issue by moving the blast to the fully closed portion of the frame.

The front flip-up Magpul BUIS more or less takes care of the second issue.

He's in Washington. SBR's need to be on a form 4. They cant be done on form 1's as the state and ATF have determined that the newly passed law allowing the possession of SBR's didnt allow for individuals to actually make them. They seem to have a hard time drafting laws that make sense there.

What really gets me is every time I remove the G21 for cleaning I unmake the SBR, then I get to remake it. But I can't make it in the first place, sigh :uhoh:
