Glock 23 or Glock 27?

I was thinking about getting a used G23, but after watching a couple of Hickock45's videos, I'm considering a G27.

Does anyone have any comments concerning one versus the other?

I already have a G19 and a G22, both 2nd generation.
 
I have every size of Glock .40 and the two that I carry are the 22 and the 27. I have multiple G23s but for some reason I basically never carry them. The G23 just doesn't seem small enough compared to the G22 to justify the shorter sight radius and reduced capacity

I've found my G19 much easier to conceal than my G22, but then I'm not that tall.
 
That might be more dependent of carry method then, as my primary carry method for my G22 is in a shoulder holster. You could always get a G23 and have the grip cut down to G27 length so you have the best of both worlds.

I didn't really want to sink that much money into it. I was going to stick with a 3 1/2lb. Ghost connector, a cut rifling barrel and night sights.
 
Glock 23.4. In a Crossbreed Supertuck, Warren tactical 1 dot sights.

The 26 makes more sense than the 27 or 33. .40 is a handful in a subcompact. The 23 is as small as I can go before performance suffers. 26,27,33, are too small for my hands, and the sight radius a bit short for 20+yards.
 
I voted for the one I own, G23. Weight wise it’s a bit heavy for an EDC but Not enough to keep me from carrying it.

If G27 came without finger grooves I’d own one but that grip length is really too short for me to get a full grip.
 
If under a 10 round mag limit, the 27 otherwise I'd prefer the 23. (I have both)
 
Shoot both if you can. The 27 jumps a bit. You might want to try the 27 regardless since you have the other frame sizes. You could always drop a 9mm conversion barrel in it if you don't like it.
 
1 gun get a 23 2 guns get a 22 and 27 also remember a 23 has smaller finger grooves so handle them fit
 
I know I speak heresy on a gun board, but the only Glock I own is the 27. I have a KKM 9mm conversion barrel for it which functions flawlessly, and which I use if I want to burn less expensive ammo.

The recoil on the G27 never bothered me -- but then, I never owned or fired a 9mm pistol until maybe 15 years after I got my first .40... Go figger! o_O

A Glock 27 with an extra 9x19mm barrel might be the way to go.

I almost wish I'd known about that option when I bought my Glock 19. Based on my experience with my Glock 22, I worried about the recoil, and bought a Glock 19 instead of a Glock 23. I might have bought a Glock 23 and a 9x19mm barrel. Of course I wouldn't have gotten my Glock 19 with the sweet VA Beach Sheriff's Dept. rollmark.
 
I used to carry the 27, now I carry the 23.
I shoot the 27 pretty well but after a while I decided that the 27 was only slightly more concealable than the 23 and I liked the extra capacity and longer grip of the 23.
I’m waiting for the model 44, single stack .40
 
I have all the glock sizes as well, except for the newer single stacks. I carry a full size when in the woods and a 27 concealed. With a Pearce floorplate for your pinky I don't think the grip could be improved on, at least for my hands. It is snappy but not hard to control. Of my glocks the 23 and 29 are the most unused by far. They are, in my opinion, too much for concealed carry when the 27/26 is an option. And too similar in size to the full size guns to be useful.
I have no problem at all with the compact frame size and would gladly carry one (and did for a while) but if given the option I'd go with a 27 for cc or full size (or even larger) for range toy/ woods gun. Can't go wrong at all though and either can use G-22 or 23 mags so no worries about capacity and the grip length can be changed via magazine and mag adapter to suit any need.

That's what I did. Glock 27 with a 9mm Lone Wolf conversion barrel. It has been 100% reliable with that setup. I bought the 27 after the last ammo shortage specifically because I wanted to be able to use either caliber.

I typically use a Glock 19 mag in it with an X-grip adapter. I find that setup to shoot very comfortably.
 
I have both. At the range the 27 gets shot a little. The 23, a lot more.

Pairing guns that way makes a lot of sense, imo. You're more apt to shoot the larger one because it's more pleasant and training translates well to the smaller carry gun with similar ergos, trigger, etc. But you also have the larger one available if you want more firepower or it's just cold out so you're wearing bulkier clothing. I do the same thing with a pair of M&P's (Shield and a 2.0 Compact).
 
I'm a G27 carrier. Primarily because I believe the 40 S&W is a better round in this weapon than the 9MM. I don't believe I'd be far behind with the 9MM, it is just my desire to carry this size gun and barrel with the 40 S&W. Many will say that the 9MM is vastly improved with newer bullet development. Well, so is the 40 and 45 Automatic. Buy the way, my other self defense tool is a 45 Automatic 1911. I guess I'm partial to a larger bore size.

I own 8 Glocks.

The first one I bought was the G-27 due to same caliber as my duty gun and it was used as a BUG.

The next one I bought was the G-23 and I still EDC that gun [ for the past 20 + years ].

I have carried a Sig 365,G-43,S&W pd340,Kimber .45,Walther P99C,and a few more if you get my drift.

But I keep going back to the G-23.

I am 5'4",and stocky build,carry that gun in all 4 seasons year round.

I am not a fashion plate,and so I dress to carry.

The G-27 gets a bit of belt / ankle wear,just a bit.

I switched from a Glock 19 to a 3 1/2" M1911 when "Aloha Snackbar" got to be a thing here (we had a car and knife jihadi in Columbus). A Glock 23 or 27 would be splitting the difference.
