Glock 29 mag question

Will the G29 accept G20 mags. If so, will the G29 accept the G20 pre-ban 15 rnd mags? I'm considering buying the G29 (compact 10 mm) for CCW, but would like the larger mags when using it as a car gun. I currently have the G30 for CCW and use a second larger gun for car carry.

Yes and yes.

I believe you will like the G29 and the 10mm chambering. Check out www.doubletapammo.com for more flexible ammo. Be advised, you can also get .40 S&W conversion barrels if you want to use cheap range ammo.

15 rnd mag length?

When using a G20 15rnd mag in the G29.... how far does it extend out of the grip? I really think the G29 is just what I'm looking for. I had considered a G20 and a G29, with the hicap for the car and the 10rnd for CCW. This is great; one gun with 10 and 15 rnd mag choices.

It will stick out about one and one half inches.

I do the same thimg in a Glock 30 and carry G21 mags for a reload.

I carry a full-capacity G20 mag as a spare for my G29. I can draw the longer magazine from the carrier more quickly than the stubby one.

BTW - Glock specifically warns AGAINST using G20 mags in a G29. Of all the large/small gun combinations they make, this is (AFAIK) the only one where they've had problems, and where they caution against using the larger gun's mag in the smaller gun.

Of course, if you choose to do so anyway, that's your decision to make - but if Glock is so concerned about it as to publicly warn against it, that would make me think twice...
