Traded a tricked-out 870 that sees little use to a friend for a Glock 30 with two extra mags and an IWB holster today.

Owned a G19 before and liked it, but always wished it was in .45ACP. The G30 is larger, but is very accurate and reliable.

Great choice!:D I got mine last week and it's riding in an IWB holster on my side right now. The extra 0.10 inch of width over the 36 is well worth the extra 4 rds. I have small hands, however the 30 fells better to me than the 36 and I am able to shoot it well. Enjoy yours!

I have small hands as well and I frequently carry my G30 in a Sidearmor IWB. It is very concealable. Next to my P2K, the G30 is the most accurate gun I can shoot that I own.

I agree with rich52us: The 36 didn't feel that much thinner to justify the loss of the extra rounds. Anyway, the slide is the same thickness so why not have the extra rounds in roughly the same size grip area?

Depending on your frame you can hide a Glock 30 fairly well. I often do in a IWB holster. Mine has tritium sights and is dead on. I have never had a malfunction with it.....I just find the things so damn ugly. They give little pride of ownership because they are homely....but when the chips are down you can count on them to work. ;)

i love my glock 30 i had a glock 21 and like the 30 better i even shoot it better it makes a great ccw and the 45 acp will get the job done!

Smince, no, the slide is narrower on the G36.

My bad, but only .14" according to the Glock manual/site. Handling both side by side it really wasn't noticeable.

What is actually amazing to me is that I still have a Brommeland holster for my G19 from about 12 years ago. After slightly reshaping the metal band that holds the top open, the G30 fits like it was made for it instead of the 19.

I've said it before & I'll say it again...if you're happy w/ the trade, that's all that matters ;)
Congrats on the new pistol ;)

I've owned the same G21 since I bought it for duty carry in '92. I shoot in a league every Wednesday. I shoot both guns equally well! The G30 is the ideal gun IMO. I'm trying to trade a G23 for another G30 as backup at the moment. If I could have only 1 pistol, the G30 would be it.

Nice trade smince!!

I was interested in the glock 36 until I shot it....50 rounds left me with a sore hand. The g30 I have not shot but handled and it is a little fat for my small to medium size hands..The range did not have the 30 just the 36, I wanted to shoot both. I am still interested in the 30 but want to put at least 50 rounds down range before I make a purchase. I was really interested in the 36 until I shot it, as always your mileage may vary.....
