My new G34 with cheap plastic factory adjustable sights shoots about 13" high at 25 yds. That's as low as the sights can be adjusted.

There are plenty of good aftermarket sights but I'm wondering why factory sights are so far off and whether I'll have the same issue with non-adjustable sights. I see the recommendations here for Tru-Glo, Trijicon, Meprolight, etc., would one stand out as a better choice for the G34 with 5.3" barrel?

same as all my other pistols, top of front sight even with top of rear sight.

my G19 is dead on.

the G34 is hitting the target hanger above the bull by about 8.0"

thanks. looks like 0.059-0.067" offset. I think I'd better put up a full size silhouette target and hit it with 147, 124, and 115 gr. and come up with an average that it is off by. before I order up new sights.

this is making me think I should go with somebody's adjustable sights.

^or just chunk Glocks Cracker Jack Box sights in the trash can and go with a known producer.

ya, that's what I plan to do. I'm trying to figure out if I need to go with non-stock heights.

have Trijicons on the G19 and had Meprolights on my prior G19 both are good quality.

Every one of my Glocks has "non-standard" front sights. Without adjustable sights this is to be expected.

"Without adjustable sights this is to be expected"

The 34 has adjustable sights, albeit cheap ones. In cases like this I always wonder if the person with the problem is adjusting the rear sight in the wrong direction. But I've quit asking that question, because of the snappy and snippy replies about how expert and knowledgeable they are.

And hey, maybe they are, what do I know? Very little. Less each day, as a matter of fact. :)

thanks Bullet Bob. I did compress or lower the factory sight as far as it will go. I'm simply going to get better sights, IF I keep this thing.

it is unbelieveable the ridicule you get sometimes for owning a Glock. Actually, I do not care for this G34, but love my G19. I am probably going to trade in the G34 for a 1911, a Beretta M9A1, or possibly a CZ

I also have a G34 that shoots very high... Even with aftermarket competition sights, the POI is well above POA. I was actually having to hold 6" under a plate to make hits at 80 yards (and other, more accomplished pistol shooters had to as well).

I also have a Glock 19 that serves as my carry gun, my G34 is my competition pistol.

I like my G34 quite a bit, enough that I would probably also buy a 19, if there were any for sale in my area. I do have a S&W M&P full-size that's really the same size as a 19, but still.

I also have an M&P9 full size

I enjoy each of them, but the 19 is definitely easier to carry than the M&P.

You might have a defective sight, either front or rear. If you call Glock, I'm sure they'll send you a replacement set.

The factory sights are junk. I replaced mine first with Meprolight adjustables, which are still available.
I eventually switched to MMC adjustables which are now unavailable.

I've also used Mep adjustables. One caveat: The front sight is just a tad shorter than the Empire State Building.
