Hey all, my lovely wife isn't crazy about shooting our Glock 27, although she does from time to time without issues but she mentioned getting another Glock 26 for her. Been thinking about getting a 9mm conversion for both of us to enjoy in the Glock 27, but am interested to hear if the Glock community prefers one brand over the other..

Lone Wolf conversion barrels are showing up as available for around $100, while Storm Lake that are a little more $ are sold out everywhere..

Any input is appreciated as we aren't really in a hurry to buy one, but still have some 9mm Glock mags we could put to use.

I bought a Lone Wolf barrel for my G21 (400 corbon bbl). I could not find Storm Lake or EFK barrels in stock anywhere. I have been happy with my LW barrel.

I use both KKM and Lone Wolf barrels for my G22/G23/G27.

While I need to use 9mm magazine for G22/G23 with KKM/LW conversion barrels, factory G27 magazines work fine feeding/chambering 9mm rounds with LW barrel.

BTW, if you are not comfortable with the 2 finger grip, +1 Pearce mag base allows more comfortable 3 finger grip and gives you 10 round capacity with 40S&W.

Here's my G27 with LW conversion barrel and mag base.

I have a couple Pearce pinky extensions, not the + 1 capacity versions but I like them a lot. I love small guns, so the flush mags don't bother me much. Actually watching Hickok45s videos on the 26 and 27 was what prompted me to get one. My wife has a Shield in 9mm and she thinks that recoils the same as the 27, but if ammo is scarce again at some point, would be nice to have a gun that can shoot 3 different calibers..

When I traded the 26, I only sent one mag with it and saved the other two for just the conversion in case we got one. Have a few G17 mags from a friend I can borrow too if needed.

Haven't tried the Lone Wolf, but I have Storm Lake 9mm and 357 sig barrels for my Glock 23 and both have been quality; no issues.

I just bought the LW for my G22. Should arrive this Saturday. I'll let you know how it goes once I get it out to the range.

I have a LWD 40-9 threaded bbl for my G23. I also have an extended ported bbl in .40.
Both these shoot like dreams. I don't know if LWD has 40-9 ported bbls for the G27?
For outright comfort---get the threaded 40-9 if available and a screw-on compensator for range use. Better yet---get her a G19 with a ported LWD bbl. LWD makes quality bbls.

Bought a LW 9mm barrel for my G22. It was about $100 and it works reliably. Gives me a another 9mm pistol for a fraction of buying new one.

Thanks for the help folks! Been looking everywhere and found a Lone Wolf conv. barrel for about $100. Can't wait to try it!

Great! Keep us posted with a range report.

BTW, G23 barrel will work in G27. So if you have G23/G27, you can buy one G23 barrel to work in both (G22 barrel will not work in G23/G27).

I've both LW threaded for Glock 22 and Storm-Lake threaded for M&P 40. Don't seen any significant differences -- both work great. The LW are a bit less expensive.

This is true. I've had no problems using a Lone Wolf G23 40-9mm conversion barrel in both my G23 and G27. Some folks say you shouldn't do this but Lone Wolf says you can.

I did buy G19 magazines but have read that 40S&W mags are reliable feeding 9mm.

Some newer 40S&W magazines will hold/feed 9mm rounds but as the mag lips/springs/followers wear, rounds may not hold and last few rounds of 9mm may not feed reliably.

Using even older 9mm magazines with worn springs/followers will reliably feed 9mm rounds in the conversion barrels.

Now when I am shooting G22/G23, I just use 9mm magazines but the factory G27 magazines, even though well used, have fed the 9mm rounds reliably.

So try the 40S&W magazines first and if the rounds won't hold/feed reliably, buy 9mm magazines.

LWD makes quality bbls.

Err, well, you mean imports them from a foreign land, correct?

It's the Wal-Mart cost of things: LWD costs less in price, but is more expensive with loss of "Made in USA" jobs.

I was just "shopping" shotguns for 3-gun comp., and guess what? The "cheapest" rage in 3-gun is a foreign made shotgun, from a third world country.

There are a TON of great foreign gun companies, but I'll spend my money on the Made in USA products, rather than "American" companies who import their products with a 900% mark-up. MHO...:cuss:

I'm looking to get a 9mm barrel conversion for my G23 Gen2 and leaning towards the LoneWolf for $99.

Some newer 40S&W magazines will hold/feed 9mm rounds but as the mag lips/springs/followers wear, rounds may not hold and last few rounds of 9mm may not feed reliably.

Thanks for the advice, I will try my 40sw mags first to see if the will feed 9mm reliably with the Lonewolf 9mm conversion.
