Glock Ejector Problem

Took my Glock 26 9MM Gen Three out on Saturday for some practice. Haven't fired that many rounds through it ( Approx 75 ). I noticed that the spent brass was coming back at me and/or going straight up about 1-2 feet but only intermittently. Had it jam twice. My son informed me that Glock was having trouble with their components on the Gen four pistols and that Glock was replacing the ejector system under warranty. Has anyone else had this problem?

Have you had anyone else shoot it? I've noticed that mine ejects them in a different direction when my dad shoots mine. I haven't had any jams though. Mine is a Gen 3 19 test fired in April of 2011.

Been readin a few article on Glock problems as of late and not just one particular model either........seems QC is gone to the crapper.....they are hurting they're reputation.

It's sad to watch a company do this to itself. All they had to do was keep making guns that work, and they could charge a little bit more for them, since they had established their name and reputation already.

Your problem could be in the extractor, ejector, or recoil spring mechanism (the usual suspects.) You could try replacing these all yourself; it would probably cost less than shipping it to Glock.

Has to do with judicious filing of one spot on the extractor (not the ejector)...

"Brass To The Head" issues have been rampant since late Gen 3...

Glad I have a late 80's Gen 2...Bone stock, and never a hitch...

My Gen4 19 has been flawless through about 2,400 rounds. I got the new RSA at about 1,500 rounds and still have the stock extractor. I must be doing something wrong.

Step one is to verify you have the latest RSA and ejector is not the old 336 ejector.
Then next time you clean your gun remove the extractor and polish/clean as necessary to allow it to move smoothly and easliy in the slide. This will fix 99% of the 1% that have reported problems. If that fails call Glock support and they will fix any issue that you have. THe newer glocks seem to have tighter fitting parts that may contribute to these issues with new guns, most of the time after a few thousand rounds and a few cleanings the issues disappear. Using hotter ammo will also hide the issue.

My newest G26 (not Gen4) had much more erratic ejection than my older G26. Didn't matter whether I was using standard pressure, +P or +P+ loads, either.

I tried 3 extractors and 3 ejectors (including the newest Gen4 revision) before finding that an older 336 ejector and the latest extractor resolved most of the ejection issues.

Still not as consistent as my older G26, but it's good enough and serviceable.

I've heard you can call Glock and tell them you want a non-mim extractor and get the new version of the ejector. Had the notorious problem with my G19 and got the new ejector and polished the leg on the extractor. Now problems are gone and empties are in a small area to my right. Brass used to be scattered everywhere.

I had the problem with a Gen3 G27. I fixed it with the new .40 ejector.

If you call Glock, speak to the Warranty Service Department and explain the problem, and say you want the new ejector, they'll likely tell you to find a local Glock Certified Armorer to order and install the part for you. You can arrange with them to send it in to them if you want, you might as well ask for a prepaid shipping label but they may not give you one.

If you want to get the new ejector and install it yourself, the new ejector is available in the newest Gen4 trigger housings. So far only MidwayUSA.com and glockparts.com have been confirmed to sell the Gen4 9mm trigger housing w/30274 ejector(both backordered), and only glockparts.com has been confirmed to sell the Gen4 .40 trigger housing w/28926 ejector. The early production "new" ejectors didn't have numbers on them, but here's what they look like:


Because you can't use a Gen4 trigger housing in a Gen3 gun, you'll need to pull the new ejector out of the Gen4 trigger housing and do the same with your Gen3 trigger housing, then put the new ejector into your Gen3 trigger housing to use in your Gen3 gun. If you continue to experience erratic ejection with the new ejector, keep the new ejector in the gun and replace the extractor because the extractor probably doesn't move freely enough.

Remove the trigger housing from the frame, grab the ejector with a pair of pliers and pull it out of the trigger housing, then insert the new ejector. Be careful not to bend the ejector to either side because the slightest change can either adversely affect ejection or put the tip of the ejector closer to the primer of a live round being ejected which would be dangerous.
(I wrap the teeth of the pliers in masking tape so the ejector doesn't get gouged or scratched)

Problem solved. sent it back to the factory today... selling it as soon as it returns..Buying a Kahr P-9 or K-9...

In the past four months I bought a Gen 3 G 34 test date of 10-17 and I bought a Gen 4 G19 and G26. All have been flawless for me using WWC ammo. The pattern was more intermittent when my wife was shooting the 19 but it was mostly because of her grip but no FTE or brass to the face. Don't lose faith with Glock yet I love mine and they are very accurate.

My gen 3 19 made 2 trips back to glock. Finally they replaced the ejector with a 30274 and the extractor. Seems fine now, but it's hard to trust a pistol that was nothing but trouble from the get go.

You are fortunate and your sample size of one proves nothing.

The reports of erratic and incomplete ejection on recent production Glocks is well documented and widespread.

I have a Gen 3 mod. 19 that had the brass problems. I did a little juducious polishing on the extractor leg and ordered the new ejector. Problem solved. It is one of the mid 2011 model 19's. My son has one from '07 and no problems. Find a local armorer and have him order the parts for you. Installing them is easy.
