Help! I saw a small chip in my glock 23 firing pin. It still works..... but can I replace it with my spare Glock 17 firing pin?

Only the firing pin needs replacing...not the whole firing pin assembly.

I'm a little confused. One website specifically said that they (the 9mm and .40 cal) firing pins are different in length.

Another website was selling firing pins that were compatible for both 9mm and .40 caliber, thus implying that they were the same.

Thanks in advance for your help.

From Glockparts.com FAQ page:
Q-Are the .40 cal. firing pin and the 9mm. firing pin really different? I can't tell the difference.
A-Yes, the .40 cal. S&W firing pin is .015 in. longer than the 9mm firing pin.
