I am not a big semi-auto pistol person, but I do own a couple Glocks and other semi's. Could you explain the generational differences with Glocks? We're up to 4th gen now, right?
A sentiment I can somewhat agree with. Rails don't bother me, but at the same time I don't use them either so it's not an improvement. Finger grooves I can't stand. I don't mind the replacable backstraps from Gen 4, but I know a lot of people have had issues with the new recoil springs. The reversible mag release is an improvement, but not as much of one as a true ambi-release would be (ie, operable from both sides all the time - not a switchable either-or).
The finger grooves never bothered me. I'm one of the lucky ones, I know a lot of people can't stand them. As far as the tac rail on the front, it doesn't bother me. I don't use it.
I think Gen 4 should have done a true ambi mag release as well. I'm a lefty so I make a right handed system work for me no problems. I'd never consider switching to a left handed only set up. Strange-- I know!
