Glock Magazine Base Plate Removal

Does anyone have an easy way to remove the base plate on a Glock Magazine?

You push the button and then try to slide the base plate off of the side wing tabs. I've been useing the edge of the table to put pressure on the tabs while I push from the square end. With my second and third hand I slide in a shim to get it over the tabs. Must be and easier way.... Anybody have one???

narrow punch

the secret is you have to get the little notch completely out of the hole then use the punch as a handle to slide the base off. the corner of the table dosnt push it deep enough to alow the base to slide

The first few times that I did this I knew that I was going to break something.

But, it works and I still haven't screwed one up yet.

Stab the little detent on the bottom of the mag with a punch and insert punch an inch or so, lever the punch towards the front of the mag. It's really a cinch once you figure it out.
