I'd like to know what modifications you've made to your stock Glock ( lighter trigger, aftermarket barrel, titanium striker, etc. ), and if you think it was worth the money spent.

Thanks,

glock mods

ultimate trigger stop
lighter firing pin spring
steel guide rod
bo mar sights
titanium firing pin
extended controls
25 cent trigger job
i think thats everything. i use this gun for the range only, mainly uspsa, idpa. my favorite thing is probably the sights, followed a close second buy the tigger parts. hope this helps. joe

1. Heinie Straight Eight sights.

The finish is not as durable as I would like, but they are otherwise great sights. On balance, I'd say money well spent.

Purschased it straight from the factory: Glock 35 with 3.5lb. connector and NY1 springs. The trigger is pretty smooth and hair-pinnish. And Trijicon night sights both front and back.

Back when I did have a Glock 23, I remember looking around for aftermarket parts. Ended up getting captured metal FLGR, 3.5# Scherer connector, did the .25 cent trigger job, extended slide stop (now slide release), and factory night sights.

In the end, the only things I kept on the gun was the night sights, and polished the stock connector instead.

I sold all the other aftermarket stuff.

My G19 has upgraded sights (MMC), and a 3.5 pound connector- and lots of rounds through it to make the action a little smoother, and me more comfortable with the gun. I suspect the latter is more important than mods!

Anyone know where I could find the NYC/12-pound trigger connector? My dad is looking for a plasticy pistol and likes the idea of a heavy trigger and the slightly extra degree of safety that is affords when carrying.

I put steel sights on them right away, WELL worth the price and I consider it a mandatory change.

I do a LIGHT polish of the trigger mechanism, 25 cent triggerjob basically but not done very energetically. Basically I am just looking to get any big hitches out of it and get it pretty smooth. Trigger weight on a stock Glock is just fine for defensive or competitive use to me. I think this is worth the price since it basically costs nothing, if I was able to pick from 3 or 4 when I bought one I probably would just take the smooth one and not bother polishing anything.

I put skateboard tape on the grip. It costs less than a quarter and I can't shoot one nearly as well without it, so it is well worth the price. I think this is mandatory too.

That is all I will do to my Glocks, and all I will recommend that anyone else does. I shoot competitively and see Glocks malfunction constantly, the common thing between ALL of the Glocks I see malfunction is the owners have been piddling around with them way too much. They change springs, strikers, connectors, guide rods, all kinds of stuff. I can't even fathom spending a couple hundred bucks to make a great gun a lot less reliable. The people that just add ammo go a LONG time between malfunctions if they even have a malfunction.

ext controls
nite sites
high caps (when I bought them anyway)
357 Sig drop in barrel
laser guide rod

For the $$$, the nite sites and high caps. The other stuff was for kicks I guess

not to rattle any cages, i honestly am not, but i heard something about glockmeister being involved in a lawsuit. now not saying he is guilty at all, just wondering if that may slow down any turn around time. the ATF has a way of slowing things way down if they want

The 12 lb. trigger will certainly make the gun safer - safer for the bad guy. THE GUN DOES NOT GO BANG UNLESS YOU PUT YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER!!!

I added a stainless guide rod and a KKM match barrel. The stainless guide rod? I could live without it. But I love the KKM match barrel. Worth every penny. It really improved the accuracy over what was a factory barrel with what seemed to be particularly generous dimensions. Now my Glock shoots almost as well as my Sigs. Perfect drop-in and as reliable as the OEM barrel. YMMV.

I not really sure if you have ever tried one but the NY2 spring (12lb trigger) is not what you would think. I compared it to my stock DAO S&W revolver and the NY2 trigger was a whole lot easier to pull than my DOA revolver. BTW I have tried all the different variations of triggers and run the NY2 trigger with the stock connector which gives around a 11Lb pull with the standard Glock short trigger which I am happy with. BTW If you compare a 5,8,or 12lb trigger of a Glock in one hand and another brand of gun with the same pound trigger in the other hand you will defiantly notice the Glock trigger will feel lighter and will for sure go bang faster because of the short trigger pull.

I think Glocks are just fine as there are right out of the box. All I have done is added grips and changed out the serrated triggers to smooth ones to all of mine. If it don't squeak, don't oil it.

Changed trigger from serrated to smooth.
Changed trigger spring from coil to NY-1.
Changed connector from 5.5lb to 3.5lb
Changed sights to Heinie's, but will soon change to Meprolight night sights.

No extended anythings, no aftermarket internals, no stainless barrel.

It shoots well.

I typically don't modify my Glocks, however I changed a few things with this G26. I polished the trigger internals, installed a 3.5# trigger connector, installed Meprolight night sights (green front/yellow rear) and rounded the trigger guard.
In this particular pic, the 10-round flush-fitting magazine has a GAP floorplate installed which provides a tad more to hang on to. I doubt that you can tell, but there's also a grip plug inserted in the backstrap opening.

Two things are absoloutly neccesary for me to do when I get a new Glock. Add the 3.5 # connector, and install different sights, any sights are an improvement to me.

Here's the recipe for my IPSC open G35;

1. Storm Lake 4 port stainless match barrel. ( get from Storm Lake direct, much faster than Topglock )

2. Glockmeister magwell.

3. Glockmeister heavier trigger spring.

4. triggerkit.com trigger ( best glock trigger on the market )

5. Glockmeister stainless recoil spring w/17# flat spring.

6. Enterprise Arms ghost ring sights.

7. Grip red. w/stippling ( I did it myself )

3rd gen Glock 23

-trigger polish

-NY1 trigger spring

-fresh recoil spring/assembly and striker spring

-XS big dot sights

-Storm Lake g23 357 sig conversion barrel

I just added Fiber Optic nights sights to my Glock 22. Havent even shot it with them yet, tho i intend to rectify that tommorow.

Other than that, i tried a steel rod and spring but honestly preffered the stock one.

ultimate trigger stop
lighter firing pin spring
steel guide rod
bo mar sights
titanium firing pin
extended controls
25 cent trigger job

Exactly what I did to my mdl 17 game gun, with the exception of the titanium firing pin.
