Glock only make w/ readily available drop-in parts?

Are there any designs that allow drop-in parts of all, if not most parts?

Being new to Glocks, it is my understanding that parts are drop-in and readily available online.

It seems like a great advantage not needing to send a pistol to a gunsmith or manufacturer for fitting of replacement parts.

Glock is the only one I'm aware of...the M&P line of S&W may turn out to be one also, but as of now Glock is it. Good thing about Glocks, they rarely need a part replaced...'cept for normal maintenance items such as springs and maybe an extractor.

Thats a good question and surprisingly the CZ-75 PO1 is claimed to be engineered in just this fashion. Back in the 90's I could actually swap out the slide and barrel from my sigma with my Glock and it functioned just fine. Go figure.......

alot of people complain that sa dosen't sell parts to the folks for the xd line,but the majority of the parts that sa won't or don't sell to folks are easilly found on the internet and can be bought all day long. and i am sure in short order there will be more and more aftermarket drop in parts. i have never had any reason to change any parts other than normal maninatce stuff, and the average gun owner/shooter never will need to to even do that as they don't use thier weapons enough.

I agree with possum. Most gun owners will never shoot their handguns enough to cause any remarkable internal wear. It's even more unlikely that an average gun owner could wear out a Glock. I have around 8000 rounds through a G34 and all I've replaced is the recoil spring, twice.

The Sigma was basically a copy of the Glock. I think some parts were made for S&W by Glock. I also heard Glock received some money quietly from S&W due to patent infringement.
