I have a super nice over/under 12ga shotgun listed for sale. One man has offered either a Glock 27 Gen4 or Sig P226R each are 40cal in trade. I have never cared for the Glock but do understand it is a very dependable firearm, same can be said for the Sig. Last pistol I owned in 40cal was a SA DX-40 that mimics the function of a Glock. In "YOUR" opinion which would be best choice and not based on actual Dollar value.

I like the Sig.
Most others would chose the Glock, I think.
What will you do?

What exactly do you mean by super nice over/under? Cause neither of the handguns are worth a whole lot used 400-600.

I prefer to use glocks. Taking in a trade I'd go with the more valuable gun, the sig.

Wow, tough call.
It would have to come down to what I needed to round out my collection and the value of the trades offered. You asked for my opinion.
As much as I like Sigs I am pretty much a Glock fan boy, so Go with the Glock.

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't trade a "super nice" O/U for either of the guns mentioned. Maybe both...

That said, if I had to pick one, I'd take the SIG. I like Glocks, but I don't like .40 S&W in a polymer, compact frame. I think the full-size SIG would be more enjoyable.

From a value standpoint, if both are in similar condition, I'd guess the SIG is worth a good $200 - $300 more than the Glock.

Can you take both for a test shoot? If not, grip, aim, dry fire. The opinions here may divide every which way, but one thing for sure, you won't get a clear answer.
I have owned and trained with several of both. I keep a Glock for speed drills and a SIG for bullseye.

well if you plan to carry it I'd say go glock, if not I'd go sig. a .40 cal in a subcompact frame is snappy tho. the sig is definitely worth more. both should be great firearms and serve their purpose. maybe if your over/under is that nice you should insist on trade plus cash. I have have a glock 23 that I love but its the compact so its a little bigger than the 27. lately the 29 has captured my interest.

From the input here it seems the SIG is the leader. My O/U is a Traditions made by Fausti in Italy, the only shells fired from it was by me and then only two shots to pattern it. The finish on receiver is without question a work of art, both barrels have Modified screw in chokes, Vented Rib, barrel select switch just in front of single trigger inside trigger guard. Blue Book on the O/U is substantially higher than both of the pistols which in itself makes me hesitant to even think about a trade. My biggest issue now is health prevents me from dove shoots, trap or any other activate in this line plus I don't want my worthless kids trying to get my guns after I'm dead.

Glock is a service pistol and the Sig is a NICE service pistol. Both reliable but neither are worth what a quality O/U is worth. I agree with the advice to sell your shotgun and buy a good pistol that you want and will enjoy.

Hate to finally admit it but in the last 7yrs I have shelled out close to $50,000 bucks on three or four kids. Some I gave as a gift, other parts was truthfully expected to be repaid. To date I think I have seen a total of $500.00 paid back. Had to evict my son from a single wide mobile home because his girlfriends kids trashed the house. I sold it because it would cost more to restore it and de bug than I wanted to spend, and wanted any thing to remind me GONE. But that's a whole different subject. I am taking advise here and have it listed for sale now. Will spend what ever I get from it on my Lawn Tractor that had to go to the shop. Thanks to all

Not trying to be condescending in any way, but your O/U is not 'Super nice' in the O/U shotgun category. It is a good gun to be sure, but 'super nice' commands a $20,000+ price tag.

I would take the Sig in a straight trade. If you end up wanting the Glock then get some additional cash to make it a fair trade v

Sorry to read that Walker. I think this shotgun is worth a little more than a used 226 in .40. There are tons of them around, and 9mm is preferred by most for recreation. You are probably getting the most of your Fausti by selling it.
