I've found that the baby glocks can't be concealed much better than the 19 or 17.
While they do appear to be a "chunk", they are still a good bit smaller than the 19's, and can be carried more effectively in places a 19 cant, like an ankle holster. They also work very well in the "appendix" position, with or without a holster.
Truth be told I lean towards the 19...In reality I don't shoot it any better than the 17 but it does seem to fit my hand better i.e. it's more comfortable.
Sounds like you might be on to something.
My only other gripe about the 26 is that the grip is a bit short making it slightly more difficult for me to get a good purchase on the weapon during the draw. With the addition of a Pierce grip extension though this problem is basically resolved.
I tried the extensions early on, and quickly learned they werent for me. They just caused more problems than they solved.
First they made the gun bigger, which basically defeats the purpose. Next was the pinching, both while shooting and reloading, and especially reloading. If you dont get that pinky out of the way... oi, oi, oi. Its a little tougher to shoot with the gun attached to your hand.
That little bit of knowledge also convinced me to use a 17 mag for the reload, no matter what I was carrying. Why waste time with a 10 rounder when a 17 works just as well, and actually better.
Once I got used to shooting the 26 with my pinky wrapped under the mag, everything was better, and it feels very natural now.
As far as getting a hold of it during the draw, a little "stippling" goes a long way, and makes them a lot easier to hold onto while shooting too. Works great on the bigger guns too.
