Going price for an AR-15

Of course I, along with many others bought an AR-15 in the Obama crunch. I no longer have a use for it. Its a S&W M&P15 MOE that has about 500 rounds through it, 6 P-Mags, 4 Random other Mags, an EOTech 512 and about 1500 rounds of Ammo in an ammo can. I want to list it in the For Sale section or even offer it to a friend who is looking, but don't know what to ask for it all. I would like to get $1500 out of it. Is that reasonable?

Just looking for your guys input on the used pricing of this.

Seems like you are close to the right price range. The big factor would be the ammo. Brass cased or steel cased? Reloads or factory?

Brass cased factory ammo with USGI mags for the "random" mags and that should sell pretty quick I would think. Steel cased Russian ammo with USA/ProMag/Triple K brand magazines? Probably sell eventually; but not as fast.

And like most gun stuff, you'll almsot always make more money parting it out than you will selling it as a complete package; provided the extra hassle is worth the extra money to you.

its brass cased (about 1000 rounds of PMC .223, and 500 rounds of Federal XM193 5.56 NATO)

I'd part it out, no problem with that...Ill take pics and post it at that price to see what happens...Thanks for your help everyone...

Trex, you can buy a new M&P15 MOE for less than the Blue Book's 100% list price if you look carefully. $950 to $1000 is what they're going for new. The EoTech 512 can be found new for $395 shipped at Amazon & Overstock. Going by prices at PSA, the OP has about $450-$475 worth of ammo. 5 extra PMags (beyond the one that came with the rifle) are about $75 new. The 4 random mags are $40 new maximum if they're USGI. Deduct accordingly for the used items. Like B. Roberts I think $1500 is in the range for the package.
