I've got a sudden desire to take as many classes as I can. I just took my first, Combative Handgun I. I've signed up for the MBC 1&2 knife class and will take 3&4 this summer. Looking into Suarez's Close Range Gunfighting 2 and Given's Combative Handgun 2 . Would like to get a shotgun and carbine class sometime.

Somebody tell me I'm not alone.

I am a very strong proponent of training. I take at least one course a year and this year I am hoping for two. Pat Rogers 5.56 and a precision rifle course. I also train at least twice a month and shoot weekly.

I may get 5 atleast 3 in by July :what: Ofcourse Im new to it all so I'm able to take alot of stuff. Plus being single, young, and relatively free of burdens helps as well.

bratch,

By all means, train all you can train, and train under a diverse group of quality schools or instructors. Take every class with an open mind and view each skill taught in each class as an opportunity to put another tool in your toolbox. Have an open mind and give every technique a fair try in the class.

It is crucial to remember that taking the class is just the down payment on acquiring a new skill or technique. You will not "own" that skill until you've made many payments on it by practicing it long after the class is over. The classes are not magic bullets - your attitude toward working to master those skills is the key to getting the best return on your training dollars.

If you can train under Tom Givens, do it.
