Looking at Natchez' site, I didn't see any Dewey .20's, and am wondering if a .17 would be OK. Mostly wondering if the threads on the .17 would be compatible with the larger jags and brushes.

I have found that the threads on the 17 rods are very small .17 only. I don't believe the larger jags can be used.

Have you checked for Tipton rods at Midway. Tipton rods are excellent.

This has been my experience as well though I haven't researched it much as I have both a .20 and .17 rod.

As i understand, larger jags can be used on smaller rods with the use if an adapter. And I did check out the Tipton rods at Midway, but far too many reviewers there claimed to have broken the thin carbon rods.
