Wife & I went to the local IWLA to shoot some through our M44 & the Ruger Bearcat .22.

After the gawking from some of the other members at the rifle range, you would think no one has seen an actual Russian M44 before but it was all good, there were a few that had some new to them 91/30's there & was admiring the shorter brother.

Shot mostly at the 50 yard mark today shooting some surplus 147gr. light ball from 1981 & some Brown Bear 174gr. keeping the rounds in the 2-3" groups with only opening up to 4" when we went to 100 yards most were offhand.

Becky was a little upset because they closed up at 16:00 so we didn't get much time with the .22, but think that was my fault because I had forgotten the new range hours.

Marlin 45 Carbine; the M44 is equipped with the standard globe protected front stud & rear V notch.
Don't plan to install a scope on the Ole girl but do need to tweak my windage a little more being that many shots hit right of center from when I adjusted it previously to compensate for the folded Bayonet "think I adjusted it a tad more than needed."

Just to let y'all know, the wide groups were probably more my fault than the rifles.
Like I mentioned last posting, I adjusted the front sight to compensate for the folded Bayonet & had it shooting a little too far to the right so in my country boy wisdom tried to compensate but wasn't real steady.
To be honest Becky was better from the bench than I was offhand in keeping the hits in the black.
