Just moved to the TC area, but am still technically a WA Resident... Spoke with Sheriff's/County Clerk persons regarding how to register my pistols... From the county prosecutors mouth via the clerk in charge of firearms, as I have a WA state cwp I'm not required to register the firearms until I become a legal Michigan resident... No weirdness at the clerks office as I've heard described in other (more Detroit-ward) counties, other that a few puzzled looks at figuring out what I needed to do... So once I get a Michigan driver's(and become a legal resident, for voting purposes, etc., which I may wait on as I own a house in WA state) and am a student here in TC, for the next few years or so... I just need to take 'em in to get 'em green card'd, although it was specifically mentioned that as of January 1st the safety portion goes "bye-bye"....

Glad I chose a state kinda in line with Washington as far as "gun-friendlieness" to go to school in...

Oakland County is slam-bang up against Wayne County / Detroit, but I have found the Sheriff's Department to be very civil in regards to CCW: polite, friendly, courteous, and efficient.
