This was in the State. SC is trying to increase reciprocity with other states. The State

• Let permit holders carry guns in any state

For The State to compare the concealed weapons permit reciprocity issue to 12-year-old drivers is just plain silly (“Out of state gun carriers don’t need special treatment,” May 31).

The majority of our states allow for concealed carry, and each has its own standard for issue. The point being that there are standards. For our state to deny any other state’s standards is an affront. (Re: your choice of the driver’s license analogy — would it be proper to deny a Georgia driver access to our highways for lack of a S.C. license?)

Despite your “Chicken Little” rants that began during debate over our current concealed weapons law, South Carolina did not turn into Dodge City then, it is not now, and it won’t be with reciprocity.

Concealed weapon permit holders, regardless of state, are law-abiding, responsible adults. Most have undergone state and federal criminal background investigations.

Amen Brother!

:D I like that!
Of course we all know of the liberal slant that the "State" has to offer. Thats why I don't subscribe or read any of it.

About a year ago an anti told me that he thought that guns should be regulated "just like automobiles." i.e., with licensing and registration. I shot back, "he, that's a good idea, that way my CHL would be valid in all fifty states." :neener:

He didn't respond to that. What can thet say? "Well, we don't mean that exactly..."
