My CZ 75 SA is a great pistol and i am very pleased with it. I have not had any problems with it through 300 rounds. I try to shoot once week at least 50 rds with my girlfriend and we plink away with the buckmark. I have a family membership at a local shooting range so my expenses only reside in ammo.

heres more good news...I have been able to pay off the rest of the next school year through scholarships and other wise financial investments. I have kept good books and it appears that i can get another handgun. My girlfriend is going to get a cz 83 or a besra .380 soon so i don't need to buy her one.

for my next handgun i'm thinking polymer frame for eventual carry or a revolver

polymer:
-XD 9mm
-glock 17 or 19
-steyr M-A1 9mm

revolver
-gp100
-sp101
-sw 686

this forum was such a great help last time i was buying a handgun i thought i would let you guys suggest a way.

any suggestion will be noted

thanks again guys

...for eventual carry...
...revolver
-gp100...
all i can say is, most likely "no" ;) i'm a fairly big guy, and i've decided my 3" gp100 is too chunky for carry. it's great for "around the house" protection, but i woulnd't venture out with that brick on my hip. i love the gun itself, but i just haven't found a good holster for ccw (yet!). if you got anything larger than the 3" then, well, good luck ;)

ps, i'm in the market for a cz p-01 or 40p -- one of those might just do the trick for ya. something to check out, anyway.

CZ makes a polymer version of the RAMI, if you want to give the 75 a "little brother." ;) I personally did not care for the shape and location of its safety levers and passed, but it is your gun, not mine.

An outstanding polymer pistol is the S&W M&P. I have a 9mm compact that has been flawless. The full-size is comparable in size to a Glock 17, the compact (roughly) to a Glock 26.

SP101, 2 5/8" Bbl, stainless, in .357. I bought in 94, and liked it so much that I gave it to my mother (she puts .38s in it).

Damn gun was so useful that I had to buy another one for myself a couple of months later. I've got six-shooters and autos, but the SP101 is small enough to pocket up, and yet built like a tank. I've a S&W 5 shot .38, a really small one, but it's blued and will rust within a day if I carry it while I'm working (from perspiration). Never had a problem with the SS Ruger.

The Smith has a better trigger, but at the range the gun is intended for, it didn't matter so much to me. The extremely heavy-duty construction did.

Two things: In my opinion, the .38 is a waste of money, unless you can get one at an incredible price. Get the .357. Even if you never load the bigger bullet, you have a firearm with a higher resale value. Also, I thought there was nothing wrong with the stock grip, until I put the Hogue grip on. Completely changes the feel of the gun, YMMV.

Sixtigers beat me to it. SP101...3" barrel is fine too, it will conceal as easy as the 2 incher, has slightly longer sight radius, a bit more mass if you're shooting the 357's, and simply looks better proportioned.

Don't forget the S&W M&P series. cdnninvestments currently has the 40 for 399, and the latest catalog says they have the 9 as well now (not sure how much though). Combine that with S&W's current 2 mag + 50 dollars rebate and your almost stealing the gun :D
