I'll pretty much agree with what's been posted:
Dragon Man's for outdoor shooting up to 200 yards. No frills, just a place to shoot for $10/day. His private military museum is well worth the $5 tour.
Whistling Pines (requires membership) for indoor shooting up to 25 yards - any and all calibers, including rifles. Well, maybe not 50-cal...
Specialty Sports for unbelievable selection of new firearms (all types), scopes, knives, etc. Has a few used items, not a lot. No pressure, very friendly folks. Prices are a little higher, but I try to support them.
Shootin' Den for good selection of used rifles. Nice folks.
Sportman's Warehouse generally has good selection and prices; I buy more ammo there than anything else.
There are a few others around also, but those above are the ones I frequent.
The El Paso County sheriff's have issued more CCW permits than any other county in the state: over 7,000 to date, I'm told.
I applied right after Christmas 2006, and about 4 weeks later received a permit with the year (2006) and a number in the neighborhood of 1200. I wonder if that means 1200 permits issued in 2006 alone?
