I'm looking to re-stock my Savage 99 lever action. I've found the correct replacements being sold at Macon gunstocks and gunstocks inc.com . I realize that I'll have quite a bit of fitting to do and that's OK. Anyone out there had good or bad dealings with either company? Thanks in advance for any advise.

Rom828, I purchased two stocks from Richards Microfit, after I received them I contacted Richards Micro fit to inform them I thought I could train wood peckers to do a better job.

Boyds doesn't list the stock I want. Savage used about six different stocks. I don't expect perfection. I want decent wood roughed out so that I can finish the inletting, cut within 1/8" so I can make the stock fit the steel.

Rom, I fit a Richard's and while the wait was triple the advertised time without any communication, the stock I received was nice, albeit cut wrong. I adjusted the inletting for my trigger guard and all was well. The wood was definitely not in finished condition, 100 grit to 320 required.
