Good war movies & what you like about 'em

it's hard to top Band of Brothers. So much attention to detail.....especially with the dialogue(something Saving private Ryan really suffered from). If you've been in the military, it is excrutiatingly painful to see actors playing soldier, and saying things that people simply never say in the service. In that regard, Platoon is probably the most realistic war movie to date. oliver Stone pretty much wrote the script as a synopsis of his time as an infantryman in vietman....incredibly realistic dialogue.

Paths of Glory is a great movie as well.

This thread's had a pretty good run, and I have to admit that there are now a bunch of movies that I'd like to see as a result of it.

However, it's still not directly gun related, so I'm going to go ahead and close it.
